Hello guys, and welcome to the very first episode of "We Have The Receipts". I'm Chris Burns. I'm joined by the incomparable.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
00:17
Yes, I'm Lauren Speed-Hamilton, and I'm so excited! Oh my God. Episode one, can you believe this, Chris? Like.
Share
Chris Burns
00:25
I'm so excited, I'm so excited to be talking to you. I mean, what are the chances?
Love Is Blind
, Season two. This is working out so well for me personally, I get an insider's perspective, which listen, I, the whole time I'm watching, I'm like, "I can't believe this person thought this was going to work out", and then I constantly remind myself that it in fact has worked out.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
00:47
It can work out, right, It's like the glimmer of hope is there. I mean,
Love Is Blind
Season two, man, I have a lot to say, but I guess we'll get into that a little bit later because there's plenty of tea to spill receipts to have behind the scenes, all that. So, I'm excited to jump into it.
Share
Chris Burns
01:04
I'm ready to jump into it. I think we should jump into while speaking of
Love Is Blind
. Katie, so, Katie Thurston, who you'll remember was
Bachelorette
in a season, some have been left wanting more, I would say. It was a bit of a
Covid
season, regardless. She did end this season and engagement. But she also tweeted, "I'm confused" on Tuesday the 15th saying, "am I supposed to be excited about the engagement of Shaina and Kyle". Here, here's my thing.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
01:40
Well yes.
Share
Chris Burns
01:41
None of us were that excited about the engagement of Shaina and Kyle.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
01:45
No, I was about to say she's not alone in that thought at all. Matter of fact, we were all confused, Katie.
Share
Chris Burns
01:50
We were all very confused, but we were also very confused about your engagement with Blake. So and she also, I guess, did fire back because somebody tweeted, "I'm sorry, but this is how I felt about yours", which LOL, and she said, "fair enough". So she's a good sport.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
02:06
But she gets it, she gets it. You can't throw that boomerang without knowing it can come right back to you, Katie girl, no, come on now.
Share
Chris Burns
02:14
I mean, that's literally the definition of sitting in a glass house throwing mega marble rock.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
02:20
All the stones, okay, here it is.
Share
Chris Burns
02:23
But I'm just still thinking about Shaina and Kyle's engagement, but we'll hold that until we can really dive in.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
02:29
I was about to say, oh Lord, it's so much liberty to talk about, right. It's hard to hold our excitement for that.
Share
Chris Burns
02:36
Speaking of relationships, how do you feel about
Kim
and
Pete Davidson
?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
02:41
You know what?
Kim
girl, I just feel like
Pete
is so different from what she's been within the past, which is what rappers and ballers, but hey, whatever. But you know what, maybe he actually makes her laugh, but also just saying that they're talking about their new reality show that's coming out. It's like, is this a publicity stunt because
Kim
girl all of a sudden.
Share
03:02
But at the same time she's entitled to have her own happiness and if
Pete
does that for you girl, go for it. But
Kanye
is not happy about it, that is for sure, he's writing like being Girl Burn books about it and everybody's in it, you know, he is upset honey, he's very bad.
Share
Chris Burns
03:19
You know the
Kanye
Chronicles, which speaking of, have you watched the documentary? Haven't dived into the
Kanye
documentary yet on
Netflix
.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
03:26
I've watched parts of it and you know what, I will say that it definitely shows a more human side of
Kanye
West
because I think that we definitely see him ranting and raving, and it talks about his journey and all the stuff that he's overcome, and it's no, I don't think anybody doubts that
Kanye
West
is talented, like we all know that, right?
Share
03:45
But I don't know, it's so hard to like, you know, peek through all of the other things that he's doing that he's putting out currently in the media, and it's just like a cloud of a great cloud over him right now.
Share
Chris Burns
03:58
I know it's a shame, so I've been watching so much TV lately. It's ridiculous. It's winter there like we're in the house, we're in the house.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
04:10
So what 's some of your favorites?
Share
Chris Burns
04:11
So I finished.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
04:12
What are your feelings right now?
Share
Chris Burns
04:13
I'm feeling all over the place, but I have finished
Too Hot To Handle
season three, and I loved, I cried at the end, I was very pleased with the.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
04:23
Dis you?
Share
Chris Burns
04:23
I was very pleased with the winner because here's my thing with
Too Hot To Handle
. We're rewarding the people who have changed the most, but I'm like, just because I came in already grown doesn't mean I should lose.
Share
04:39
So, I was happy, it was a couple that kind of stayed following the rules the whole time.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
04:47
Do you think you could do something like that? Could you go on a show like
Too Hot To Handle
and be deprived of affection and kisses and stuff. Would you be like, "I can't hold myself back, I must kiss you or whatever other sexual things that they're doing? " I don't know.
Share
Chris Burns
05:04
Listen, I've been.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
05:05
Because they're all in the same room.
Share
Chris Burns
05:07
I know that's so bizarre, but I've been affection deprived for years without being on a TV show, okay, put me on it. I would be the troll toll. I'd be like, they're making sure nobody is going in to the private room. I would be turning up the A. C in the private room so that everybody was freezing and would stay under blankets. I would write like, yeah, I'd win
Too Hot To Handle
hands down. Would you ever go on a
Too Hot To Handle
type of show?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
05:38
You know? I don't think so, I mean, even if I did, I feel like I'm in the same boat with you. I think I would do great because yeah, if it comes down to like me having to withhold like kissing somebody and getting some money, I mean I think I can last until the end of the show, you know? Yeah, exactly.
Share
05:60
And it's like if I'm feeling you, you're feeling me like is it really such a thing, we have to have sex right now. I can't hold back like no, we can't wait a couple of weeks, so we can get this money, and then we can have money to go on dates, and then we can have whatever sexy, sex date party, whatever freaky stuff we want to do and get that's on us.
Share
Chris Burns
06:18
I love the way I love the way you think, especially because I watched
The Tinder Swindler
, and now I'm never dating again.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:25
God, can we talk about that please? Please.
Share
Chris Burns
06:29
Also, he's on cameo.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:30
You're never dating again, wait, you're never dating again after that.
Share
Chris Burns
06:35
Did you see I mean this means.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:36
He's not on cameo.
Share
Chris Burns
06:38
He's on cameo. Do not give this man. Listen, do not give this man your money.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:42
What? Oh my God.
Share
Chris Burns
06:45
And he got kicked off
Tinder
permanently.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:48
Yeah, it's called, well he served his jail time because everybody's like why isn't he in jail for those of you who aren't familiar with.
Share
Chris Burns
06:57
It was five months.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
06:58
Five months is the only he got?
Share
Chris Burns
06:58
Because he only got charged for what he had done in
Israel
, so like all of the crimes and that's like the crimes we didn't even see, so like all of the crimes we saw on the doc, didn't get charged for, and he's living in
Israel
. So I'm sure, if he's smart, will stay there to not get charged in other places.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
07:20
That's insane for those of you who don't know about
The Tinder Swindler
, which I don't know how you couldn't because it's truly been everywhere. There's this guy, his name's Simon. He's an Israeli con man who got on the dating app
Tinder
and basically started dating these women, getting close to them.
Share
07:37
And then all of a sudden he, he posed himself as a rich playboy, right? A part of some diamond family or something like that. But the fact was, y'all, he was broke, and he was after these ladies' money, so he would get them to start filling them and then all of a sudden emergency, and he can't, yeah.
Share
Chris Burns
07:56
Like the time put in, he introduced them to his kid, to his baby's mother who also was a victim, apparently you guys have to just watch this and delete any dating app you have on your phone.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
08:12
It couldn't have been me Chris because let me tell you the moment he was like, "hey baby, you know what, all of a sudden it's these people after me and my stuff is my accounts frozen, can you loan me something? " I'd be like, "so what you gonna do? Because I'm not. "
Share
Chris Burns
08:26
Did you mean to call me?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
08:28
Right, exactly, maybe you should call some else?
Share
Chris Burns
08:31
Are you, are you have met you, are you calling me on an encrypted app? to ask me for money.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
08:37
Exactly.
Share
Chris Burns
08:38
Who's after you? All, that was the thing. None of the girls were like, who is after you?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
08:44
They didn't ask the right questions. I feel like maybe I don't know. What would you do? Like I don't know.
Share
Chris Burns
08:51
You want, I don't have $10,000 to give you.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
08:55
That's what I'm saying, like don't take a private love will make you do, right, okay, you better sell some of the stuff you have, or something level will definitely make you do some crazy things, but alright, well, I think that's why I don't mess with dating apps. I think crazy love.
Share
Chris Burns
09:12
Yeah, listen, I know I'm so jealous, I'm still out here fighting for my life with
Simon Lefebvre
.
Share
09:21
All right, well, on that note, I think we get into some hardcore dating with
Love Is Blind
. Season two with recaps.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
09:35
The moment we've all been waiting for.
Share
Chris Burns
09:37
I have to know who 's your favorite couple.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
09:43
You know what? It was really, honestly, guys, it was hard for me to actually settle in on a favorite couple this season.
Share
Chris Burns
09:52
Me too.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
09:52
Like it really was that, I wanted to really just be gung ho and have my favorite couple. But I feel like all of these couples kinda have their issues, which is normal in a relationship. But I feel like these issues were like, I don't know, y'all don't think you're gonna make it, but if I had to choose a favorite couple, I would definitely choose Jarret and Iyanna, and I think that they're super cute. Although I was definitely worried for them, still maybe a little worried for them, but you know.
Share
Chris Burns
10:21
I was worried very much worried for her at the beginning of the episodes.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
10:26
Yes, yes.
Share
Chris Burns
10:28
Because they pour their hearts out to each other, and then she's like, "it's you" and he's like, "well um the thing is", that was heartbreaking.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
10:46
It's so embarrassing, like, oh my God, to say that you really love someone and then for Jarret to like verbally say to Mallory after they were engaged. Okay, I'm talking about once, they were in Mexico at this beach party, told Mallory, "hey, you were my number one". Well now, wait a minute, didn't you just tell Iyanna? Did y'all? It was two yard, and it was, 50-50, so somebody landed. That's all I'm saying, somebody's land that beach party who wants to be somebody's number two to get engaged like? No!
Share
Chris Burns
11:17
I feel I'm like, I'm so happy that they're together, and I love that they are married because I really, I love them, but it had to be hard to watch the season back together and you, I mean you would know this, but I can't remember now if either of you even connected with anybody else before, right?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
11:41
Not really, and that's the thing that gets me Chris, I feel like when you connect with someone you just know I don't really believe in all that, "Oh it's to you, I'm in love with", no you can love two people, but you cannot be in love with two people and I just didn't like the way how Jarret you know and Jarret you know let me set the record straight. I am rooting for them. I hope that their marriage is successful, and I want especially you know hey it's a black couple, I'm rooting for everybody black, so I want them to do great, just be honest.
Share
12:11
But I don't know it's just for him to ask someone to marry them and then turn around and be like well that didn't work out, so I'm gonna just ask her it was just kind of like but in the end they got over it, and they're married.
Share
Chris Burns
12:25
And they're married, which is good for them. Mallory and Sal well did not have such similar ending.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
12:34
They did not, did you have a favorite couple? I meant to ask you too.
Share
Chris Burns
12:39
My favorite couple that is Iyanna and Jarret for sure, as well because I mean I love Jarret like I like them both so much individually that even when Jarret was like dating both women, I'm like, but he's being honest about it like at least he's an honest guy.
Share
12:59
So I'm happy, it worked out, and I think he's so fun also when he's like talking with the guys, and they're just hanging out, he's so like genuine, and it takes a lot for me to actually feel that way about a straight man where I'm like "oh he's non-threatening, but I'm like oh he's so sweet". But I love, and I love Sal, so I was a little sad for Sal and Mallory's. The meeting was just so hard to watch.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
13:28
Yeah, it was, it was, and Mallory was really struggling with the physical attraction which I get, it's like you make a connection to someone, but the physicality isn't there? But I don't know, to me their chemistry was it was always something that was a little off, it seemed a little dry to me, you know? Just a bit, but they both seemed amasing.
Share
Chris Burns
13:47
He, I mean but they both seem amazing, they both seem amazing but even after they got married, and then she was like "so do you want to see where this can go? " And he was like "can I let you know? " I was like yikes.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
13:59
Yeah, I know, I know.
Share
Chris Burns
14:03
But I mean I'm like that too, I'm very like alright clean cut I'm not gonna.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
14:07
Do you mean after they didn't get married? After the altar, you mean, right? And then she said, he said "no" and then she was like he was like "I don't know I gotta think about this" right?
Share
Chris Burns
14:17
And I'm like yikes that's, because I get being like no but like let's keep dating let's see where it goes, but the fact that he didn't even feel that way.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
14:26
And he was like, I gotta think about this. Yeah, it sounds like he may already be a little checked out, but you know what? Mallory is a beautiful girl, she has a great personality and so does Sal you know, I think that regardless if they keep dating or not, I think that they both hopefully will find someone who makes them happy, and they can live happily ever after even if it's not together.
Share
14:46
I think sometimes people really need to realize that you can have a connection with someone, but it doesn't always have to be romantic, like maybe you're just meant to be friends.
Share
Chris Burns
14:54
Yeah, I was talking today actually about how
Love Is Blind
is the only show that is true to life when it comes to dating because as soon as they start adding in the other things is when the couples start folding like dominoes, like the second they're out like Danielle and Nick, like that was just such a bizarre shift.
Share
15:19
The first, he's literally like, "she's so cool about everything, it will be so fine" and she's like, "no, I was hiding in the closet and crying actually".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
15:31
Yes, I know, you know what, what do you think about Daniel and Nick? They did get married. So congrats to them.
Share
Chris Burns
15:40
I'm not a very, like, I don't like conflict, especially in the house, so if there's any tension in the house, I'm like, I can't live like that and the fact that they already kind of had all these fights feels tense to me, but.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
16:00
Definitely tense.
Share
Chris Burns
16:02
I'm hope, I like them both also individually, I just think that she likes dressing up and playing video games, and he likes making his own clothes and jogging, you know what I mean?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
16:14
Yes, very different interests there. What did you think about the hot dog costume?
Share
Chris Burns
16:20
Listen, I'm not one to talk about having costumes in the house, but I'll say this, I have like 50 wigs and no hot dog costume, so, I thought it was weird, she made him put it on.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
16:33
Yes, yeah, definitely, Nick and Danielle, you know what, I was really surprised by them, you know, their families seem to be very interesting as well, I thought that they each had, you know, interesting personalities. I think that we all saw that Danielle had some issues from her past that kept reoccurring, which I think that's really the amazing thing about
Love Is Blind
and I remember one of the cast members of this season saying, "you know, and
Love Is Blind
, you know, you're looking to find someone else, but you really end up finding yourself".
Share
17:08
And I think with Danielle, she went through a lot of things and a lot of issues that kinda came to the forefront between her and Nick, but I just feel like before they got married, I don't necessarily feel like they were resolved.
Share
17:19
So, you know what, maybe there is something that we didn't see, but it just seemed like, man, they have so many issues, and then it was just like, "yeah, let's get married, I'm still going to marry you", and it's just like, oh wee! I hope you all had some really deep conversations after the show, you guys continue to date.
Share
Chris Burns
17:34
If I was one of their friends, I would definitely be like, "this isn't a good idea", like, they should definitely date, like, figure it out. But deep, speaking of, like, I've never seen, such like an aspirational form of self-love as deeply, and I thought that kind of threw out because even the fact that like, she, I would have, like so quickly written him off at the beginning when he was asking very clear questions to get to find out their size and stuff.
Share
18:10
Like that, he likes girls, he can put on his shoulders at a music festival, which I'm like, that's it already, I'm 31, I'm not trying to go to
Coachella
on someone's shoulders, it's hot in the desert.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
18:24
Exactly, right.
Share
Chris Burns
18:28
Deepti really was able to, like, process that and realized that it was something about him and kind of teach him and then all the way to the end, really stayed true to herself.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
18:40
Yeah, I mean, Deepti I thought that what she did was amazing. Of course, they ended up not getting married, you know, she said that she loved herself, that's why she couldn't do it, and she deserves somebody better what she does. But I knew that it wasn't gonna work out when Shake said, "she reminds me of my aunt, bro". Like, that should not be what you say about the woman who you're about to marry.
Share
Chris Burns
19:02
That's a rude thing. I'm like that's a rude thing to say that you know it's going to be on camera like I assume after they watched the friendship probably isn't as strong.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
19:15
Yeah, and I'm just wondering that with a lot of the different couples because that's what happened with our season too. Like watching, it back, there's so many things that we didn't know happened because when you're in this world you're kind of in your own little bubble, focusing on your relationship, and sometimes you know you have the interviews or the confessionals I call them, and you really don't know what the other person is saying.
Share
19:34
So watching it back, it's almost like experiencing a lot of this stuff for the first time, even though it happened months ago or years ago, so it has the potential to kind of bring up some sour spots and some stuff that people didn't even know what's happening, yeah, yeah.
Share
Chris Burns
19:49
I bet Natalie had quite a hard time watching this back as well. Speaking of. Yes, because that whole, and also the whole thing with Shaina and Kyle. Kyle watching it must have been like, wait, what? Because she never told him that she did that, that she went right after their engagement, popped the engagement ring on her thumb and skipped on over to Shayne to say she was in love with him. It's very bizarre.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
20:22
You know, I have so many things to say about, you know, Miss Shaina and Kyle. Lord, one of them being, can we just say the elephant in the room like, you know, no disrespect. But was this not Mark and Jessica two point 0, like "oh my God". And you know what?
Share
20:42
Me and
Kim
were watching this back, and we were astounded that she in
Mexico
, she was just like, I'm not going to do this, and she just left. But then they brought her back. I was like, how is that even? How was she even able to come back on the show after she already was like, I'm this isn't for me, like, I don't know.
Share
Chris Burns
21:00
Also, how did he not? He was like, well I guess we're going to see how things are back in
Chicago,
and I'm like, right, what?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
21:09
I don't think so, man.
Share
Chris Burns
21:09
What do you mean? Like, would you ever be able to have met Cameron's parents if this was how it had gone down.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
21:17
No, I wouldn't want to, and I would not want to.
Share
Chris Burns
21:21
And then she was like, my parents, I could tell, didn't like him. And I'm like, "well you don't like him".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
21:26
Right? You don't like him, exactly. And you know, they had religious differences. This is Shaina's main point of why she was saying they wouldn't work out. She's very Christian and Kyle is an atheist, and she can't see herself with a man who isn't very religious, and she wants to raise her family this way and what not. Now, my whole thing is Shaina girl, Shaina girl come to the front.
Share
21:50
Now I understand I'm too a Christian, um you know, but you know, one of the things is that isn't one of the commandments, like, thou shall not covet thy neighbor's husband because girl you were all up on Shayne, it was all upon Shayne. So I'm just saying, you know, don't be throwing them stones and glass houses that we were talking about, right? Chris, I'm just saying.
Share
Chris Burns
22:13
No, I agree with you, I agree. I mean, there was just no perspective that I could understand, like, I couldn't understand her or him because even when he was like, "well, I don't care, I don't care about religion", and I'm like, but she does care. That's the problem.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
22:31
Exactly, exactly, just like, "she doesn't like me, it's cool, we can grow". No man, let it go.
Share
Chris Burns
22:37
And I'm like, no, that's not, no. And then the first time they meet, and she stays, and she's like, "well, I guess I better go to bed". And he's like, "it's 7:30".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
22:49
I remember, oh my God, we already it's seven.
Share
Chris Burns
22:54
Proceeds to still go and meet her and meet her family. He's a good-looking man. He seems nice, he's, listen, you can, there's someone out there, trust me, okay? My DMS are always open, okay?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
23:11
Exactly. I feel you so yeah, I mean, oh, living Season two, it was definitely entertaining. Hopefully we got some love stories that will last a lifetime.
Share
Chris Burns
23:25
I do want to ask you, before we move on. If you were in season two, do you think there'd be anyone you would've vibed to it?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
23:35
Absolutely not.
Share
Chris Burns
23:38
There you go, that's a good answer.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
23:40
If I'm just being honest, because that's what I'm here for is to be honest. Okay. y'all know, I don't hold back. I'm going to tell you how it is, not saying that these guys aren't great people, they're probably awesome, they're probably great friends, they're probably fun to hang out with, we can probably be besties, but dating you, no. How about you?
Share
Chris Burns
23:59
Listen Sal, here's the thing, the songs were kind of a cringe at some points.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
24:07
Yeah, Mallory started crying, she was very touched.
Share
Chris Burns
24:12
I would have been crying too, for a different reason.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
24:14
For a different reason.
Share
Chris Burns
24:16
Like I'm like, it's very nice, but let's keep it in the house. I am not trying to like to have a flash mob out here. I loved the premature graying guy too, that we didn't really see in the beginning, I thought he was really handsome.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
24:32
Oh yeah, he was handsome, he was handsome.
Share
Chris Burns
24:36
Should we get to some questions from fans about
Love Is Blind
, Season two.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
24:43
Yes, I would love to our unofficial 3rd co-host, right? The fans listen, what do they have to say.
Share
24:50
Hey Chris, question for you. So when Shayne confused Natalie for Shaina back in the pods, if something like that happened to you, would you get a person another chance or just cut it off right then and there, thanks.
Share
Chris Burns
25:02
There wouldn't be an opportunity for a second chance because the pods would be burnt to the ground if somebody had missed, like oh that poor girl, it felt like I felt a knife going through my heart and Natalie listen, she got the last word and that's what's important.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
25:28
Yes, she did.
Share
Chris Burns
25:31
But what what would you do?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
25:34
You know I'm with you on that? I totally felt that like in my stomach when that happened like "oh that hurts, that really hurts". But I will say from my experience actually being on
Love Is Blind
, it's I mean you should know each other's voice. I mean at a certain point of course I knew Cam's voice like right away he knew mine. But I don't know sometimes because I have done that, I did go on the pas and call somebody else, somebody else's name, but I wasn't in love with them though, you know is a little difference, yeah is a difference.
Share
Chris Burns
26:03
I wouldn't be offended. I wouldn't, I wouldn't be offended by someone thinking I'm someone else, I'd be offended by someone else thinking I'm someone else and then asking me what I'm wearing as the conversation starter.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
26:15
Agreed, agreed absolutely.
Share
Chris Burns
26:18
Because I would be like, "I'm wearing my heart on my sleeve, that's what I'm wearing".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
26:24
That you just broke, you bastard.
Share
26:27
Hi Lauren and Chris, my name is Janine, and I'm a huge fan of season one and now season two of
Love Is Blind
. I feel like one of the most cringy moments this season has been, Shake, asking Deepti if he can carry her on his shoulders at a music festival if he'd had the ability to do that. Like, did no one tell this dude that this show is called
Love Is Blind
? Anyway, Lauren, I'm curious, did anyone ask you anything outrageous like that in the pods? How would you have handled Shake's comment? I'd love to know why.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
26:57
Yes, actually, yes, someone did ask me something totally crazy in the pods which they actually ended up showing on episode one. One of the guys in the pods asked me, he was like, "are you African American? You sound like you're African American" and I was like, "oh, so this is how we're going to play it".
Share
27:16
So I was like "no, I'm white", I don't know why I did that voice to say I was white, like "oh I'm gonna change my voice", and I'm just saying. But you know, it's just like I feel you, like that is the whole point of the show, like why don't ask questions about like my physicality, you're supposed to be focusing in on my heart and who I am as a person and the things that we have in common. And if someone asked me if I could fit on their shoulders, it would be a no for me.
Share
Chris Burns
27:43
I'd be like, excuse me, would you have tickets to something? or you just.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
27:49
Yeah, exactly.
Share
Chris Burns
27:52
We definitely align on that.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
27:54
Like humble yourself dude, come on, humble yourself.
Share
Chris Burns
27:58
Can I put you on my shoulders? Then stop asking.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
28:01
Exactly, right. This is a strange thing to ask someone.
Share
28:07
Hi, Lauren and Chris. Lauren, I have to know if you were backstabbed by somebody, and you had to hatch a plan to get back at that person who from the
Love Is Blind
cast, not Cameron, would you pick and why? Thanks.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
28:25
It was juicy, juicy.
Share
Chris Burns
28:27
Who's the craziest one? That's the, that's the answer.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
28:31
Yeah, I was about to say it's tough because there were a lot of crazies. There were a lot of crazy ones on my season. I'm crazy, I used that word affectionately, by the way, I would definitely say, oh, it's hard. I would say between Amber and Jessica, but you know, if we're talking about going to get somebody who stabbed me in the back, I'm gonna have to go with Amber because Amber does not play okay, she's no holds bars, she's not afraid to go up to somebody tells them off, tell them how she feels.
Share
28:58
And I feel like, well Amber, I wouldn't even have to say anything, I mean, look at what happened in my season with Mark, He wasn't even there, but Amber was cursing everybody out, honey. Amber will have your back.
Share
Chris Burns
29:09
Which we didn't really get any of that this season, any, like drama between the aside from like Sal and Jarret who were the two most, like mature, that was the most mature conversation of two men dating the same woman, I was like, "do they not know that they're talking about the same person? "
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
29:29
There's right. I'm gonna say, not yet, though, because we don't know what this reunion is going to look like after everybody sees what was said on camera that they may not have known about, but.
Share
Chris Burns
29:39
I can't wait for this reunion. I want to see if Shaina and Shayne are like.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
29:44
Yeah. See, I thought that the show was going to pull something like they did in season one with Jessica and Barnett and have Shayne. Although she tried, she really did try, and Shayne didn't go for it, he shut it down, I'm proud of him for that, and he went and told Natalie what she said, I was like "yeah, Shayne, I am proud of you".
Share
30:04
He honestly surprised me so much this season a, at first when the show first came on, I was like, this dude is insane, but he's entertaining, and he's funny, and I like him, but he started turning into like this teddy bear, high energy teddy bear as the show went on, I even started to feel bad for him, and I was like, "what? this is crazy".
Share
Chris Burns
30:24
Do you know what part, a part that I felt bad? When they were like drinking champagne, right? When they first got to the apartment together, and he's like, "say something nice about me", and she was like, "okay, you're a stupid piece of shit".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
30:40
I know, he was fishing for compliments the whole time, the whole time.
Share
Chris Burns
30:44
It was, it was so good, yeah, I mean, I think he, because it seems like the night before the wedding, he said to Natalie that he hated her and that she was the worst thing that ever happened to him. So, oh my God, it seems like maybe he's a little bit iffy.
Share
31:03
Hi Chris and Lauren, my name is Lauren as well, I'm a big fan of you both and excited to be able to talk to you. So I wanted to get your opinion and see what you thought about the evolution of the couples in season two. So for each of you, which couple surprised you the most, whether it was a couple who started out really strong and now not so much or a couple who you weren't sure about it first, but now you think that they're really right for each other? I'm looking forward to hearing your response? Thank you.
Share
Chris Burns
31:33
Oh, I guess Iyanna and Jarret wright would be both of our, our favorites and like they definitely had a growth process.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
31:45
Oh yeah, definitely, definitely. I would say surprisingly too, I think we just kind of touched on this, but Shayne and Natalie, like they were so like all over each other, I was like they have good chemistry, they make each other laugh even though they were complete opposites.
Share
31:59
I was like, they kind of have that ying and yang thing going on and sometimes that's what you need, although in the back of my mind I was like, oh this might be a train wreck waiting to happen because I was like at some point there's going to be a blow up and lo and behold it was the night before the wedding and that's what caused them to not get married.
Share
32:16
So, but I, you know, I thought that they were going to make it actually, I was like maybe they may actually pull this thing through, but then you know, he said he hates her so that didn't work out.
Share
Chris Burns
32:28
I feel the same way. I think that was the one where I gasped the most when she said, no, because I, I saw maybe them not working out but only because of a Shayne and Shaina situation. So I guess that and then also the most surprising was when Shaina accepted the engagement to a man that she seemingly like doesn't even like to let alone love.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
32:55
Yeah, like what was that about?
Share
Chris Burns
32:58
Do you have any reunion predictions?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
33:02
Reunion predictions? I think that it's going to be some static between Natalie and Shaina. I think that, although you know, Natalie was really calm during the show after Shayne told her what happened, so maybe not, but I definitely think I'd like to see what happens with those two and if they talk it out, if you will.
Share
Chris Burns
33:22
I feel like Natalie will surprise us too, I think Natalie can be cutthroat if she has to because you know when someone is really nice and then when they say something just kind of mean you're like, "oh my God".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
33:35
Yeah, she has that silent, silent power.
Share
Chris Burns
33:39
Yes.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
33:40
Right, exactly. You don't see it coming, but then by the time it's coming, it's too late.
Share
Chris Burns
33:46
I agree. I mean, I'm so excited for the reunion just talking about it.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
33:50
Me too, do you have any predictions?
Share
Chris Burns
33:55
I'm nervous to see what Iyanna has to say about the conversations with Jarret and Mallory specifically at the beach when he was, when he was dogging on the silver ring. I felt so bad for Sal in that scene when she was like yeah, "well honestly I felt a little slighted".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
34:17
I know, it was like girl, you didn't think about that? Hold on until like, was she really thinking that? Or did he make, like, did he plant that seed in her mind?
Share
Chris Burns
34:26
I think that she had to say that instead of being like "yeah, it was just like flirting with Jarret and making fun of you".
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
34:34
And you know, people, they were upset that they were talking for so long. Do, what do you think about that? Like if you were with your significant other, and they were talking to someone who they were interested in, would you walk up and be like, okay, that's enough, or would you let them get out what they have to talk about?
Share
Chris Burns
34:49
I think I would let them do it, but I would be live it afterwards because I'm like, I'm not going to go up there and stop it because then I look like I'm a jealous nightmare, which I am, so then I would, after the fact. I would pull a Danielle who watched from the beach and then cried in the hotel room about it, which I'm excited to see if they're still together.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
35:17
Me too. I'm definitely interested to see what would happen with them, what has happened with them?
Share
Chris Burns
35:22
What has happened with them, but I mean, it was so good. I'm already ready for season three.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
35:29
I know me too.
Share
Chris Burns
35:31
Are you ready for our next segment?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
35:33
Yes.
Share
Chris Burns
35:40
This next segment is the hot seat which normally we have a guest, and we can fire them with all these questions But since today's episode one we're going to put Lauren in the hot seat. Are you ready?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
35:55
I'm scared.
Share
Chris Burns
35:57
Okay, well, we'll start light, we'll start light.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
35:59
Ok, yeah, start light.
Share
Chris Burns
36:01
And we also have some fans submission questions for you as well just to warn.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
36:05
Oh, okay.
Share
Chris Burns
36:07
So question one you have to double-date move in with and travel to a foreign country, and you have to pick one person from
Love Is Blind
season, you know what, let's say season one and two. I'll give you both seasons. So who would you go on a double date with?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
36:26
Uh! Double-date? I would say the bar nets or um, you know, Iyanna and Jarret for sure. I think that that would be a cute little double, it could be a triple date, all three of us can go, you know, that would be fun.
Share
36:44
Move in with, I don't know. y'all I'm particular about my space, okay? Y'All saw the show, I was almost going back and forth on if I wanted to move in with Cam, hell, okay shoo, so.
Share
Chris Burns
36:56
I'm a very, I'm a homebody and by that, I mean, I need a lot of alone time, so.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
37:05
Right and right in my home, not yours.
Share
Chris Burns
37:07
So you're saying you'd move in with Jessica.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
37:11
Oh, I don't know. I don't think I can live with Jessica. First off, if I see her, give the dog some wine, it's gonna be some problems? Okay, that's gonna be a fight.
Share
Chris Burns
37:22
For two reasons. A, The dog is drinking wine and B, you're using my wine for the dog.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
37:28
Okay. Listen, who bought this wine, Jessica? Okay. Did he put in on this wine? Did the dog pay for this? No, exactly. Travel to a foreign country with, I would definitely say, my girl Diamond because she's a lot of fun.
Share
37:44
I think we will have a good time. We could shop, we can eat, she could do a little dance because you know, she likes to dance, she's a dancer, you know, we can go out and have some fun. So yeah, that would be fun.
Share
Chris Burns
37:55
That's a fun trip, wait, so who would you move in with?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
37:59
I can't say Cam?
Share
38:00
You are not allowed to say Cam, maybe just pick someone from season two? It's like a strict roommate situation, and you don't have to like to have much conversation.
Share
38:08
Let me see, I would say, yeah, nobody, I think, live with any of them.
Share
Chris Burns
38:19
I feel like after watching, Iyanna seems like she'd be a good roommate because she says how she doesn't, like she likes it clean, she's quiet, she doesn't like to party too hard. Which in the house is great.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
38:32
That's true. She seems like a low maintenance roommate, which is what I would need for sure.
Share
Chris Burns
38:38
Amen.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
38:38
I feel you.
Share
Chris Burns
38:39
Let's do a fan question, are you ready?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
38:42
Okay, yeah.
Share
38:45
Hey, Lauren loved you on season one of
Love Is Blind
. So here's my burning Q, for season two. If you had to be best friends with one of the couples from season two, one of the ones that wound up together, who would you choose?
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
39:02
Besties? I think we know guys, I would definitely be good friends with Jarret and Iyanna. Although believe it or not, y'all as a backup as a number two. I'm gonna say Shayne and Natalie just because Shayne will be entertaining as heck, and he would just keep me laughing, and I would just be like what?
Share
39:22
And I just think Natalie would just be like interesting to hang out with because.
Share
Chris Burns
39:28
They do seem like they'd be like a fun dinner couple, like to go to like maybe a boozy brunch with, but I feel like beyond like I'm not trying to go on a trip with Shayne and Natalie.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
39:43
No, I would, no.
Share
Chris Burns
39:46
Also, when couples fight a lot.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
39:50
It makes it awkward, right? It's uncomfortable. Like, "oh okay, this is you're raining on my parade guys, you're supposed to be having fun". Plus, I feel like any time you travel with somebody, yes. But I feel like after two to three days you're just sick of everybody who's on a trip anyway. So I feel like, you know, it's kind of like this is too much. It's hard picking someone who you would travel with.
Share
Chris Burns
40:13
That's, that's very fair. Um Okay. I have a question for you. If you, if you could pick anyone from
Love Is Blind
season one to get to go again. So like let 's pick two people. So like two people from your season, if you could get them on another season of
Love Is Blind.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
40:39
To do it all again?
Share
Chris Burns
40:41
Or I guess season two either, if we could pick any two people to be on season three again. Which would be very interesting because voices two they would be, people wouldn't know what a gag that would be.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
40:54
Yes, I would definitely say my girl Diamond, because I feel like I just want her to find, love, Diamond, I want you to be loved girl, you deserve it, you deserve to be loved. And to kind of piggyback off that, I would say Deepti.
Share
Chris Burns
41:12
Oh yeah, that's such a good one.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
41:14
I really, I want her to find love as well, because I think that both of those girls are beautiful spirits, and you know, I just want to see them happy and loved, and you know, I would love to see them on a different season. How about you?
Share
Chris Burns
41:29
I feel definitely the same way about Deepti I love that, and maybe Mark or Kyle, I'm like maybe.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
41:39
Oh yes, well Marcus, he already got two babies, child Marcus, he's about to be married, he's engaged, he has two kids, he found somebody.
Share
Chris Burns
41:50
Everything happens for a reason. Even hot dog costumes, apparently that's true, I guess Kyle. I feel like Kyle is really needs love and that's why he was okay with everything. So I guess Kyle.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
42:09
Yeah, that's you said that kind of reluctant I guess Kyle.
Share
Chris Burns
42:13
Because I was also I was also thinking, you know the girl who she was on, I think her name was Tricia, and she was like the one who kept talking about Instagram.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
42:25
Oh right, oh my God, the public tore her a new one, didn't they? They probably are going to be so, so mean.
Share
Chris Burns
42:33
So mean because they, the public, really can't be, because they had watched the episode where she first was introduced and was talking about Instagram. So naturally I'm like how many followers does she even have? I need to see.
Share
Lauren Speed-Hamilton
42:46
That's the way I feel like everybody did that.
